Hearing Assessment

A hearing assessment is a comprehensive examination performed by one of our qualified audiologists to determine your hearing levels, identify any hearing loss, and recommend the most appropriate treatment options or hearing solutions. During the assessment, your hearing across different frequencies and speech sounds is evaluated using a range of diagnostic tests, including pure-tone audiometry and speech audiometry. We also perform impedance testing to assess middle ear function and help identify any underlying middle ear concerns. These assessments help determine the type, degree, and configuration of hearing loss and guide appropriate management recommendations.

Your audiologist will also discuss your lifestyle, listening environments, and communication needs to ensure any recommended hearing devices, hearing aids, or treatment plans are tailored to your individual requirements. A comprehensive hearing assessment typically takes approximately 45–60 minutes. Depending on your results and the specific nature of your hearing loss, recommendations may include communication strategies, referral to your GP or ENT specialist for medical review, and consideration of suitable hearing solutions to support your hearing and everyday communication needs.
